Favourite Mind-Benders

These are the films that have wrought me more psychological stress than any others. Their plots might be inscrutable, their characters cold and obscure, their themes lofty and grandiose, but they all share one thing in common: they are quite confusing. Whether they play with the nature of reality, feature extended dream sequences that are cut right into the reality, bring us to a trippy otherworld in outer space, or take place within the fractured mind of the protagonist, these are the ones to go back to if I really want my mind bent in two.
