Gays on Film- Queer Cinema at Its Best

The LGBT community has come a long way, and so has its cinema. Europe has always been at the vanguard of this progression, and in the wake of censorship the U.S. has struggled to catch up. There are many important LGBT filmmakers (Almodovar, Visconti, Pasolini and Fassbinder all come to mind) but this list is about the depiction of gay characters or themes at the forefront of the film.
