This list started out as a list of films on death and dying (grief, aging, terminal illness, etc.). But I came to find that most of the films on these subjects that had touched me were not about death, but about continuity. We continue on through our children, but also through the stories we leave, the lessons we have taught, and the caresses we have given to those who have loved us. This list is about the generation of such dynamic continuity, and how and why we seek it.
