It seem as long as something is action filled / visually stunning enough it can be as inane as it likes. This won’t be questioned by audiences.

Also, make it remotely thrilling/suspenseful or elicit a memory of something that was formerly quality/groundbreaking (a children’s book, an earlier film in the series), just to make sure that you get away with it.
