Surrealism at Cinema.

On a career that spanned from the 1920s to the 1970s, the ‘Gran Maestro’ of the Spanish(-French) Cinema evolved from his seminal surrealist black and white films to colorful Parisian films with elaborate (and deliberately unnoticeable) camera movements, always being close to his own style and his usual interests, notably women, sex, insects, inexplicable behaviours, ‘olvidados’, clergy-men and – in the last years – Fernando Rey.

[Nazarin and Los Olvidados will be added as soon as I watch them!]

Above: “Le Charme Discret de la Bourgeoisie” (1972).
