KEEP ON TRUCKING! (LONG HAUL CINEMA)

KEEP ON TRUCKING! (LONG HAUL CINEMA) by Antoine Doinel

a list of films that are predominantly set in the front seat of a truck (or lorry), films largely based around the grueling and dangerous life-style of long-haul truckers. a milieu that lends itself perfectly to a noir-ish, shadowy underworld of corrupt freight companies and greedy authorities, but a subject also well suited to cinema as the road/highway becomes a metaphor for the existential cinematic journey itself.
