“UFC 167: St-Pierre vs Hendricks will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The co-main event will feature a light heavyweight showdown between, part-time Fox Sports analysts “Suga” Rashad Evans and “The American Gangster” Chael P. Sonnen. The two moonlighting commentators have grown to become good friends while working together covering UFC fights, but will put that friendship aside for fifteen minutes to thrown down inside the, Octagon."
’Johny Hendricks vs. Georges St. Pierre: In the main event of the evening we have Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre taking on the number 1 ,contender in the division Johny Hendricks. Hendricks is by far the most credentialed wrestler to have ever fought the champion and possesses the most lethal one punch knockout power of anyone St. Pierre has fought in the past. St. Pierre brings his steady game of solid and diverse kickboxing to go with his Olympic level wrestling. So what we have on paper is the most legitimate threat to St. Pierre’s crown since he has been defending his title. In order for St. Pierre to win he will ,need to survive the first two rounds in which Hendricks will be the most lethal. He will need to mix solid defensive boxing skills to go along with a heavy dosage of take down attempts to keep Hendricks guessing as to what is coming next. If he is able to survive the first two rounds, he will have the advantage as Hendricks has shown he slows once the third round begins and St. Pierre has never shown any issue with his cardio. Hendricks, on the other hand will need to go for the kill within the first two rounds, but do so in a way that doesn’t leave him open for take downs nor has him solely relying on his overhand left to finish the fight. Hendricks will also need to attempt take downs, early on to show his dominance in the wrestling department. What I see happening in this fight, is that Hendricks, being the best wrestler in the division will be able to keep the fight on the feet and finish off St. Pierre early. While, St. Pierre has never struggled taking down his opponents he has never fought anyone with the credentials that Hendricks possesses. Hendricks I believe will keep the fight standing due to his wrestling and will catch St. Pierre in round 2 ending the reign of Georges St. Pierre.“”blank" href=“http://sitetag.us/profile/kevin/9068706514459be410f336dc830c7dff”>track.png" alt="Sitetag">Read less
