These are movies I’ve watched in their entirety for free on Hulu.
I made this to show one free and legal method for fellow Americans to watch movies (with commercial breaks) .
Some of them were only available for a short time, especially the Criterion titles.
Every week, I check these two sites:
the updated list of movies (then tick the “free” box)
This has a random variety of features and documentaries new and old from every continent, possibly including Antarctica with some of the documentaries.
They range from classic studio films to cable specials, exploitation horror to Asian romantic comedies. Some of these titles have gone out of print, or aren’t even on DVD yet.
Many of the Spanish-language offerings have info in Spanish. There are also a large amount of movies from India and South Korea.
the Criterion page
Go to the second row, which is titled with the theme of the free selections that week. A new list appears every Monday at midnight (I’m not sure which time zone; I’m in PST and it times it in PST for me).
Also check the Kino Lorber page for silent era to recent offerings.
Any movie without the little green H+ icon is free to watch or queue. Any time limits will show up in the mouse-over movie info or in the queue list.
This list is arranged in chronological order, starting with the first movie I watched on Hulu. It also includes some short TV shows and miniseries that have entries on mubi.
Not yet on mubi:
- the 2013 Indian anthology film Shorts.
- The Dreams of Elibidi (Ndoto Za Elibidi)
