My 10 Favorite Films

by danhofstra
These are just some of my favorites and not really in order. These are films that if I had never seen, I really don’t know how I could live. I’ve tried to keep this down to one film per director. #1: Star Wars – It’s my favorite film of all time. I have fun every time I watch it. I’m also a huge science-fiction lover, as you can see. #2: 2001 – I guess it’s cliche to have this on a list, but I love it…even if I have no idea what the hell it means. Read the book, because that actually makes a little more sense. #3: ALIEN – This is just a gripping thriller that’s just too awesome for a sci-fi buff to miss. #4: Raging Bull – My favorite… Read more

#3: ALIEN – This is just a gripping thriller that’s just too awesome for a sci-fi buff to miss.
#4: Raging Bull – My favorite Scorsese film, without a doubt.
#5: Raiders of the Lost Ark – Just great fun all around.
#6: F For Fake – I really like Orson Welles’ work, although I’ve only seen this, “The Stranger”, “Citizen Kane” and “Touch of Evil”. Of all of them, I had the most fun watching “F For Fake”.
#7: Pinocchio – I’m also an animation buff you will argue until I’m blue in the face with you that “Pinocchio” is the greatest animated film, if not the greatest film ever made.
#8: Breathless – Of Godard’s films, this and “Contempt” are the only ones I’ve seen. I really had a lot of fun watching this one.
#9: Monty Python’s Life Of Brian – Python’s three films are great, but “Life of Brian” is easily the best.
#10: A Hard Day’s Night – I’m a huge Beatles geek and “A Hard Day’s Night” is, without a doubt, the best rock movie ever made.

There are a bunch of other films I could put on the list, but I tried to keep it to ten and these are ten films that I could watch anywhere and at any time.
