I love Italian Westerns! I might go so far as to say that “Spaghetti Westerns” are my most favorite film genre (or subgenre, as some prefer to say).
Many of my favorite examples of this type of film are not among the titles available to select here on MUBI.
Among those are the following:
MY NAME IS PECOS——
7 GUNS FOR THE MACGREGORS——
FIVE GIANTS FROM TEXAS——
RAMON THE MEXICAN——
THE WRATH OF GOD——
THE STRANGER RETURNS——
15 SCAFFOLDS FOR A KILLER (aka THE DIRTY FIFTEEN)——
THE FURY OF JOHNNY KID——
MANOS TORPES (aka CLUMSY HANDS, aka WHEN SATAN GRIPS A COLT)——
GUNFIGHT AT HIGH NOON——
HANDS OF A GUNMAN——
IN THE SHADOW OF A COLT——
A HOLE IN THE FOREHEAD——
SEVEN DOLLARS ON THE RED——
And so many more!
There are a few Westerns listed here that some would not consider Spaghetti Westerns.
These include American-Spanish-Italian co-productions and British films all shot in Spain.
For me, if the movie was filmed in Spain and had European money behind it, then it deserves a spot on this list.
