by Count Fosco
This list is based on the films I saw from Jan 1st to Dec 31st in 2011. Honourable mentions must go to the following films that could quite easily of found themselves in my list: Super, The Glass Man, Sennentuntschi: Curse of the Alps, Project Nim, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Senna, 127 Hours, Tangled, The Guard and Blue Valentine.

I should also point out I’ve yet to see critically acclaimed films such as Melancholia, Margaret, The Artist, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, We Need To Talk About Kevin, Take Shelter, Another Earth, Snow Town, Red State, Tyrannosaur, Contagion, The Yellow Sea aka Murderer, Julia’s Eyes, In A Better World, Red, White & Blue and Dreams of A Life.

My worst film of the year was definitely the over hyped, abhorrent mess Hobo With A Shotgun. UK new releases in 2011 which also disappointed include The Rite, Scream 4, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, Battle: Los Angeles, Just Go With It, Season of the Witch, Your Highness and Love and Other Impossible Pursuits.
