Batailles Directed by: Jean-Michel Ribes Written by: Roland Topor & Jean-Michel Ribes Film director: Jean-Michel Ribes Actors: Pierre Arditi (Blandaimé / Michel / Franck), François Berléand (Plantin / Robert / Nepo) & Tonie Marshall (The young woman / The young woman / Irène) Filmed at the Théâtre du Rond-Point, 2008.
Sans Mentir (Patrick Czaplinski, 2008) You have to be a liar to invent a wife when you’re a bachelor, who is trying to seduce a young woman, who claims to be attracted exclusively to married men. You have to be an even bigger one to make your new conquest believe that you live in the superb warehouse conversion that you’re looking after during the holidays. For Serge, a wave of lies will end up uncovering surprising truths and, more importantly, revealing the real character of the people in his entourage…

Freeing the Body 1/10 (Marina Abramovic, 1976)
Art Must be Beautiful, Artist Must Be Beautiful (Marina Abramovic, 1975?)
Wheelbarrow of Flesh It’s a Dali movie that was never finished. I think they had some footage. It was delightful. It was a movie where some musician turned into Hitler and Dali’s subtitles said it would be sick for you to think this person could become Hitler. I think it was Benny Goodman, but I’d like to see it again.
Presences Was disappointed by a lack of story. Parents are searching for their young adult son and when they find him, they beat him up. There’s no explanation what he did or why they are angry. 2/10
He Has a Wife! (2009)
Buried Alive (Selig) Dec. 27, 1909
It Came From Detroit (James R. Petix, 2008)
Gwen From Brittany (Agnès Varda) From the Cinematheque program: “a short portrait of the encounters over the last decade of Agnès Varda and Gwen Deglise, programmer at the American Cinematheque, shot at the Aero and Egyptian Theatres while Varda was in Los Angeles shooting THE BEACHES OF AGNÈS.”
The First Quarrel – Lubin, August 3, 1907 6/10
Mishaps of a Baby Carriage (Selig, October 16, 1907) 6.5/10 The best part about this “runaway baby carriage” movie is when the carriage goes down a roof and the side of the house (all without harming the baby of course). However, it is not realistic for a baby carriage to get out of control and go all over town.

RUN / Directed By: Melanie Mandl / USA, 2008, 5 mins.
Using puppets and stop motion animation, director Melanie Mandl creates a magical world that explores space, time and loneliness. Inspired by the song “Run” by the French duo Air, this film of the same name was created in painstaking detail using miniature sets and puppets to tell the story of a couple separated by a vast distance.
