An excerpt from my article on Fatty Arbuckle:

Fatty was the portrait of human extremity and excess and in an industry laden with accusations of over-indulgence, it’s all too easy to point the finger at the fattest man around and say, “he’s fat, therefore he must also be a murdering rapist. He must have his cake and rape it too. Give him the entire deck of the seven deadly sins.”
