ABOUT THE CURATOR
Kia Ora Koutou, I am Leo Koziol (Ngati Kahungunu, Ngati Rakaipaaka) and since 2005 I’ve been the festival director of the Wairoa Maori Film Festival in Aotearoa New Zealand. I also curate short films for the NZ International Film Festival, and help Maori film makers distribute their films around the world. These lists of Maori-themed and Maori-made cinematic works have been created as part of a research project to catalogue native cinema from around the world, many of which have screened at the Wairoa Maori Film Festival.
