The future of cinema can only live up to our ideals if we are honest and aware of its past. I’ve watched every film and special feature in this set and what a wonderful experience. I’m so grateful to KINO for rescuing this work. I hope Oscar Micheaux finally gets the praise he deserves. His films Within Our Gates, Body and Soul, and The Veiled Aristocrats were my favorites in the whole collection.
