Some of the more interesting Academy Award nominees were cited only for Best Original Screenplay or Best Adapted Screenplay. In reverse chronological order of their nomination, here is a complete list of such films. It only goes back to the award year 1958, because prior to that, there were three writing categories, and about half the nominees were screenplay-only.
