By now it’s become a myth and cultural cliché to talk about Tarantino’s filmmaking pedigree developing when he was a video store clerk in Manhattan Beach, CA. The legend that launched a thousand smart-ass video clerks. It’s still interesting, however, to take a peek at the junk and gold that informs Quentin’s post-modern, appropriative artistry.
