Twelve Favorite Hollywood Musicals

Again, as I did with Film Noir, I’ve only listed one work per filmmaker, except in the case of It’s Always Fair Weather, which I’ve counted as Gene Kelly’s film and allowed Stanley Donen to be represented seperately by Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Also, I’ve made it a Dozen rather that the usual Ten because I couldn’t bear to leave off Kiss me Kate and My Sister Eileen, especially as they both feature Bob Fosse and Tommy Rall at the height of their powers. (I would like to have included Popeye and Les Demoiselles de Rochefort as well, but they weren’t made in Hollywood.)
