Top 15 of 2014

by Madison Killough

In 2014, I was fortunate to be able to view a number films that had been on my watch list for years.

Directors that underflowed my viewing were Alain Resnais, Eric Rohmer, Francois Ozon and Ingmar Bergman.

‘Into Great Silence’ by Philip Groning exceded all expectations – a three hour film, you become acquainted with the daily motions of the lives of a number of monks in the Alps. A tranquil and contemplative piece, its atmospheric quality delivers itself to you through the rhythm of the seasons and practice of solitude.
