Sometimes, great films move us, in ways that are uncomfortable, difficult.. I usually want to caveat to friends that a certain film might do this (while recommending them more generally), so as a set they seemed ripe for a list :) An alternative name for this list might be: “Upsetting films that you’ll be glad you saw”.
