Despite working with such strong directors as ROMAN POLANSKI, DAVID LEAN, JACK CLAYTON and JOHN HUSTON, there is a distinct feel to his work. It is detailed and realistic, but never overbearing. If stylisation is needed, as in DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, then he is able to strike just the right note. His work is always completely in tune with the demands of story and director.
