Or, a short list of my favorite representations of the occult in film.

Here is my attempt to compile a pithy list of films that best provoke the atmosphere of the occult. Some of these films may not be the finest examples of artistic representation of the Occult, but they retain a certain appeal to me based on their effectiveness as horror films. Others on the list one could easy find in a list of my favorite films of all time. This list comes at a time when my interest in the darker side of human cultural identity and artistic creation is piqued in various mediums, not least of them film.
