“I definitely didn't want to do what the Italians did with their spaghetti westerns, which was to stick Italian actors in cowboy costumes, pretend that the Dolomites were the Rocky Mountains and then dub everything in English. I wanted to take the opportunity to make a genre film that could incorporate local authenticity. In terms of language as well.
