“I have a problem when people say 'Green Wing' is so surreal. This is my personal problem, because I’m not sure I can identify exactly what is surreal. I think I probably have quite a surreal life, therefore I’m drawn to things that are a little bit exaggerated. I know people consider it surreal, but for me, it's mostly real. It’s pushing the contours of behaviour, so it is exaggerated.”
