Our take

Before the scuzzy sex and narcotics of Kids, cinema’s wasted youth were here, in a grungy nocturne of 1970s West Berlin. Scandalous to audiences on its release and now a cult classic, this nightcrawler of a film falls into darkness fast—but not before slinking about to David Bowie’s rebel sounds.
