dionysus67's rating of the film Elvis: Strung Out

Its short duration prevents this intriguing fragment from digging deeper into the Elvis myth and its discontents. Nonetheless, the perception of Elvis as contemporary culture's 'mass ornament' comes across really well in the salacious body language and in the audience's gaze as well as in the irony/analogy between Elvis' rejection of heroine addiction and his ostentatious white outfit. The rhythm section is great!
