I tried not to like it. Goddamn if it didn't ensnare me in its claws and didn't let go. Some of the best writing and acting I've ever seen. Ridiculously funny and poignant at the same time. Son of a bitch!
The premise and idea is very good; but sadly the lead actress is about as irritating and unfunny as Miranda. If only they had chosen a good quality comedian for the lead role, this could have been something very good!
So overrated. I tried watching the first episode twice, and was bored throughout each time. Even when PWB tries to be dirty and funny, she remains very basic, measured and polite. The writing is indulgent, precious, self-centered, everything I hate about those over-abundant first world white feminist narratives. I'll wait here patiently till this fad is over.
Followed this up by watching The Bisexual, and it's amazing the way one story about a woman of a certain milieu in contemporary London can outclass another. I've heard a minority of people begrudge Waller-Bridge's firmly middle-class worldview but I can't bring myself to do the same. S2's confessional scene is still replaying in my mind.
I can't even begin describe this series. lol. what a ride. and forth wall breaking? it kills them! just please, don't make second season of this. there will be fair chance this series will ruined by that!
