I REMEMBER THE CROWS

This film is an extended interview with the director’s friend and collaborator Julia Katharine, a Japanese-Brazilian trans actress-filmmaker whose insomnia keeps her awake long enough to spill stories of her childhood, family, romances, desires, self-destructive impulses, and her love of cinema.

With I Remember the Crows, emerging Brazilian director Gustavo Vinagre (Film for Blind Poet, Nova Dubai) crafts a deeply intimate portrait of queer artist and collaborator Julia Katharine. The result is a honest, meta-cinematic meditation on identity, friendship, and the act of remembering.
