OH LUCY!

Setsuko breaks free of her monotonous life when her niece, Mika convinces her to enroll in an unorthodox English class. There, she adopts an alter ego name “Lucy” and develops feelings for her American instructor, John. After his sudden disappearance, Setsuko follows his trail to California.

In a chucklesome drama of culture collision—one which includes a surprise turn from Josh Hartnett as an English-language teacher in Japan—a woman with a humdrum job blossoms from being an ugly duckling late in life. Journeys of self-discovery are not, so it turns out, only follies of the young!
