I LOVE this movie. This probably ties (or is just a smidge below) Sin City as my favorite Robert Rodriguez movie. Yeah, it gets a lot of hate, but man, I watched it probably somewhere between twenty to thirty times in 2005. Just freaking fun.
Es una de esas típicas comedias de historias llena de frama, acción, música, entre otros tiros, y pistolas. Es divertida, lo malo es que E. Iglesias sale muy poco en el filme, y creo puede hacer películas también.
Made at a time when Johnny Depp craze was the biggest, the supporting actor tries to steal the movie away from the Mariachi and has too many scenes that drags on or are over-the-top in this third movie The film's ambitious story also loses focus and seem to jump from character to character without any real passion. A huge disappointing third film.
Mariachi music? Check.
Drug cartels? Check.
Day of the Dead? Check.
Military coup? Check.
Every Mexican cliché plus ridiculously grotesque violence. Entertaining enough but hardly Sergio Leone level.
This is not bad. Better than Deperado. A Mexican homage to Sergio Leone the film expands the scope of the previous instalments with a star packed ensemble cast and a twisty political plot. Even Johnny Depp can't ruin it.
