Acclaimed more abroad than in its home country, the first color film from Miloš Forman (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest)—as well as his last one before moving to America—is both a dazzling comedy and a provocative political satire. The film was Czechoslovakia’s official entry to the 1969 Oscars®.
