  1. CAP's rating of the film The Unknown Saint

Whoever compared Eddine Aljem's style to Kaurismaki was right: there is not the same inspiration in storytelling, but the minimal narrative, the stylized staging and the sympathy for all its outsider characters is the same. Seen online at FESCAAAL.

  2. parlour's rating of the film The Unknown Saint

Half of the situations for one hour go quite smoothly showing an essential and dry humor, then the script drifts into cruelty and we are too bored already due to the farmer, the dryness and the doctor’s attitude to have the will to go further. Ps: Bouab’s eyes are incredible

  3. Gabriel Ribeiro Alfredo's rating of the film The Unknown Saint

It's a film which plot construction is so simple and so mundane at times that loses it's wonderous factor. The story of the thief and the lookout could be the focus here, making a great short or medium film... a feature with the other two plotlines is just boring.

  4. Superfrog's rating of the film The Unknown Saint

It works, it is technically spotless both in image and in dialogue, as far as I can tell not being a native, culturally sound... It is a comedy, it is pleasant, it is not insulting and quietly makes comments about a culture people rarely get genuine exposure to. Nearly gets the elusive fifth star from me because of this.

  8. Badreddine's rating of the film The Unknown Saint

  11. Maribou's rating of the film The Unknown Saint

A charming, gentle farce unfolding in the slow lane of the Moroccan desert. A great ensemble cast deliver some fine deadpan comedy moments. Who'd have thought a dog's teeth could bring out the whole village?
