Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a graphic designer. Most importantly, one who loves film. Somebody who is happy working across various disciplines – from print and poster design, to digital and video work.
You will be a full-time member of the MUBI family in London. Part of the design team – working directly with our creative director, Pablo Martín. You will also be involved in projects with our design partners, SPIN - working closely with creative director, Tony Brook and design director, Claudia Klat.
We are looking for someone who can make beautiful work, in a contemporary aesthetic. You should have proven conceptual as well as executional abilities – and examples of compelling creative work in print, digital, mobile and film.
Working on creative solutions to promote our curated film programming, including:
- Film posters for theatrical and digital releases
- Social media assets
- Print and digital ads
- Building and updating micro-sites for film releases, on wordpress
- Collaborating with editors on video promotions
(EG: Typography within our promos, or design for trailers.)
Film Festivals and Partnerships:
- Creating unique visual identities for our partner events.
- Invitation design. (Both print and digital)
- Creation of promotional materials.
- Exploring new ideas for our branding and working with different media
- Ads for print and digital. (Both static and moving.)
Confidence in typography and branding work.
Strong ability to visualise ideas and concepts – with skilful art direction in execution.
Strong eye for detail and thoroughness.
Innovative, interesting thinking.
Happy working both independently, and collaborating with others.
Ideally some motion graphics experience. (But not essential.)
Comfortable taking up the responsibility of leading and delivering projects
Comfortable and happy with trying different creative approaches, for different projects.
Should look to self-initiate ideas, and proactively contribute to briefs.
An ability to intelligently and creatively execute our brand guidelines, and help evolve them over time.
Knowledge & Technical
Formal design education.
Good grasp and practice of UX (User Experience) design.
Good understanding and experience of graphics production techniques, including image manipulation, editing and compositing in all media.
Professional level: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
Intermediate level: Premiere Pro, After Effects
Full time (at least 2-3 years experience)
