I prefer comedy that touches on emotions, rather than stimulates my intellect. Saying that, he's probably only going to be intermittently funny to me, or more inside laughs than outside laughs. Paul Simon has a song about this on 'Hearts and Bones'. Look it up.
Watched this special live last year, and then again when Netflix released. Funny enough, Martin's comedy is better in the small screen. Since he's a more introverted comic, he doesn't explore the stage very well, or has his presence felt. The intellectualism behind the jokes, however, is stronger than ever.
