Our take

With its romantic monochrome photography and twinkling jazz score, this philosophical comedy of urban exasperation tips its hat to Woody Allen’s Manhattan from the off. Starring a superb Tom Schilling as a put-upon loafer in the throes of an existential crisis, this hip debut is a deadpan delight.
