Twenty-six directors… 26 ways to die! The ABCs Of Death is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived, featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film.

I've just watched "O is for Orgasm". It is «the story of an object», like Bataille's "Story of the Eye". Cattet & Forzani are deeply obsessed with scopophilia. I don't know if they appreciate Bataille, but their films seem to be deeply inspired by him. Everything in their films is on the surface; there is no hierarchy: "O is for orgasm" is a case of «signification without a thing signified» (Barthes).
26 short films about death. Like all anthology films some are quite inspired, some are underwhelming and some are just plain disgusting. Best in show include 'D is for Dogfight'(Sarmiento), 'L is for Libido'(Tjahjanto), 'O is for Orgasm'(Cattet/Forzani), "T is for Toilet'(Hardcastle) and especially 'X is for XXL'(Gens). Production values vary as does intent.
the only ones that were remotely interesting were A, D, L, Q, U, and X. the rest were either pretentious, boring or desperate attempts at shock and cheap scares. Interesting idea. If only the filmmakers were more unified, if not in vision, at least in quality.
P surprisingly was moving and is without a doubt the best one here, it transcends the rest of the anthology easily- and it does it impressively without one word spoken. F was the most bizarre in a "wtf is this shit ? Lmao " kind of way and H was probably the most coolest idea. As far the rest goes, don't waste your time. I wouldn't blame you for not watching this and skipping it altogether, better horror elsewhere.
Cool concept - There were some great episodes (A, D, I, L, R, U & Z), some ridiculously comical (F, H, J, K, T, & W), and others about ether good (E, O, Q, & S) or bad (G & M) in between. (X was the most disturbing & goriest I've seen in the whole film, by the way.) Nevertheless, weird & graphic but still was worth watching myself. Sometimes, we make screwed-up horror films like that nowadays. XD
Some sick shit, some amazing shit and some pretty awful amateurish/boring shit. I gave it 3/5 but it is really a 2.5/5 (the other .5 goes for the genius idea for the project). My favorites were (in no order) A, D, H, J, K, L, N, Q, T and U. The rest range from impossibly WTF to meh!
26 directors from all over the world are given 5000$, a letter from the alphabet and total freedom to do a short segment on death. The result is a mixed bag of short segments in which most of them are not really good. There are a couple of great ones, some are very creative and some are just stupid, pointless or mediocre at best. Overall, I can’t recommend this one, a failed experiment I’d say.
Favorite segment: L.
Good Segments: D, F, H, O, Q, S, T, X, Y.
Least favorite segment: M.
Bad Segments: A, B, C, E, G, I, J, K, N, P, R, U, V, W, Z.
All in all, some of the good segments are so good, it's worth a watch. Especiailly L, I want to see some more work from Timo Tjahjanto. I heard only good things about his segment from "S-V/H/S".
