Our take

Rightly hailed as one of the greatest films ever made, Bertolucci’s masterpiece is both a taut political thriller and a highly sensual and surreal journey through Europe’s troubled past. A huge influence on Coppola, Scorsese and Spielberg, rarely has the psychopathy of violence looked so damn good.
