Our take

In this fantastical animated adaptation of his popular graphic novel series, Joann Sfar brings the beauty and complex politics of 1920s Algiers vividly to life. Informed by the director’s Jewish heritage, this philosophical plea for religious coexistence is adorably delivered by a loud-mouthed cat!
