From the “Appendix: Compendium of Female Neurosis”: “…while by no means comprehensive, this appendix is a cross-section of horror and violent exploitation films that feature disturbed or neurotic women as primary or pivotal characters…Admittedly some films stretch genre definitions, and others fall completely outside of the centre but are nonetheless important progenitors for genre characterizations.”
