Towards an Ecocinema

How we represent nature on screen may influence how we relate to our environment, nature, the world we are dependent upon, live in.

I’m doing research on experimental/avant-garde film and ecology. US film writer Scott MacDonald believed experimental film may have potential ‘in retraining our perception’ of the natural world. He coined the term ‘ecocinema’ in his paper ‘towards an ecocinema’ in 2004.
