For me, a little too general. Five directors discussing five directors should lead to a higher film/history ratio. Still, the stories told and the footage found are more than powerful enough to warrant a watch and the connection between the experience and the cinema that came after is definately there.
The problem with it is that its still propaganda itself, it still wants to find glory in the American cause and thus makes it less nuanced politically. It made me extremely disappointed in Capra nonetheless yet more respectful of Weiler
