Synopsis

19-year-old Tish and her sculptor fiancé Fonny live together in poverty-stricken 1970s Harlem. Wrongly accused of raping a woman, Fonny is sent to prison without trial. Not long after, Tish discovers she’s expecting Fonny’s baby. Tish sets out to get Fonny out of jail before the baby’s born.
