WOMAN IS THE FUTURE OF MAN

The first snow has fallen over Seoul. Munho, a young art professor, is catching up with his friend Hunjoon, a broke filmmaker who has just returned from the United States. After a few drinks, they decided to track down Sunhwa, a woman they were both in love with a few years earlier.

Stark sexual encounters and digressive alcoholic afternoons punctuate Hong Sang-soo’s fifth feature, a mosaic of different moments that trace the tangle of a love triangle between friends. Each scene unfolds with a candid lightness, thanks to the measured touch of the South Korean auteur.
