Daily Briefing. Fall Previews

Take the last day of summer to browse the fall previews.
David Hudson

The last day at Telluride, otherwise known (or not) throughout the rest of the US as Labor Day, more or less marks the official end of summer. And so, with little else going on besides Venice — though I should mention the death of Indian director Jag Mundhra at the age of 62 — here's a bit of lazy holiday browsing: Fall previews from IFC, indieWIRE, the Los Angeles Times, Movieline, New York, Newcity Film, PopMatters, the San Francisco Bay Guardian (multiplexes and repertory), Time Out New York and Vulture.

Image: Lars von Trier's Melancholia, opening in the UK on September 30, in Germany on October 6 and in the US on November 11. For news and tips throughout the day every day, follow @thedailyMUBI on Twitter and/or the RSS feed.
