MUBI is collaborating with Outfest 2011 (site) to bring to online audiences short films from the 29th Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.  Currently in our lineup: playing globally, Lust Life and Same Difference; and playing in the US only, Cold Star and Cappuccino.  These shorts will be playing for free on MUBI starting on Thursday, July 7 and playing through Sunday, July 17.

“Playing globally” but it won’t let me watch from Aotearoa NZ. Shame. Why is this?
Hello Charlotte, The films will become available after the opening night gala, Los Angeles time. Please check back and everything should be in order!
when you say ‘playing globally’, what do you mean exactly? i’m sure that Buenos Aires, Argentina is part of the globe, but three of these short films are not available in my area. so please, don’t say ‘globally’ if you don`t really mean it….
Hi Lila, As Joe said, the films had to wait until the gala was over in LA — the ones indicated as playing globally are indeed now playing.
Every one but the one I want to watch “Same Difference” is available. Am I the only one having issues?
We had some problems with the encoding and are working to put it back online Vaare, sorry about that!
Of the “Outfest” films I’ve seen so far the stand-outs are “We We Here” — an incredibly moving documentary about the early days of the AIDS epidemic and its impact on San Francisco — and “The Weeknd” — a teriffic British film about a one-night stand that blossoms into ever so much more.
“Same Difference” is now up and available for free worldwide. Sorry about the delay, everyone.
