Quote of the day (by Dziga Vertov)

A cynical observation by a contemporary film distributor: The import of what Vertov is doing will only be understood fifty years from now. So he should undertake his experiments in fifty years. Vertov’s response:

We don’t only need films, we need films that beget films.
