Our take

The under-known Lolo tells a tale of youthful resolve amid the poverty of Mexico City’s urban slums. With gripping, in-your-face imagery and extraordinary performance from the young Roberto Sosa, Francisco Athié marshals a sharp critique of the rampant corruption ripping through the country.
