We're ostensibly here for the same reason and yes, McQueen packs a healthy dollop of the man's wild, bold, moving creations. Fashion is like, modern aristocracy. But I feel it pretends to have greater access to the man - the home videos are no Amy - and maybe should have been solely about the early years? At least that's where it's strong, before selling us that ol' tortured artist never-had-a-chance routine.
The documentary gives a great insight into Lee Alexander McQueen, his life, his loves, his family and friends but also his dark side. I felt deeply moved and also incredibly sad such a talented man could feel so incredibly lonely and end his life this way.
