Our take

One of the great pioneers of early cinema, Lois Weber was no stranger to cinematic innovation. Rippling with menace and suspense, this early home-invasion thriller employs a triangular split screen as well as mirror reflections to reveal simultaneous action, in a dazzling feat of technical prowess.
