Drawn from Stephen Cone’s upbringing in the South Carolinian Baptist church, this tender drama is awash with adolescent doubts about sexual identity and faith. The empathetic, non-judgmental portrayal of a religious community and its rarely-seen complexities renders this a special, moving watch.
